  • For conditioning horses, we recommend utilizing EquiTread with an incline. When rehabilitation is the goal, we adjust the height of the water based on the individual horse’s needs. We start by having them walk slow in higher water for 15 minutes, three times per week, and gradually build up over a two- to four -week period.

  • Studies show maximum benefit with sessions designed to last 15 to 20 minutes, a duration that typically allows for the maximum therapeutic benefits without unnecessary strain and fatigue on the horse. Most horses will find this time sufficient, as their needs can often be met within this concise timeframe. This targeted approach ensures that the treatment is effective, minimizing stress while promoting recovery and enhancing performance. Each session is carefully tailored to the individual horse, ensuring that the therapy remains both efficient and beneficial. All sessions are based on the condition and ability of the horse at the time of the appointment.

  • The innovative water treadmill at our facility includes a comprehensive three-phase filtration system, which features advanced ultraviolet (UV) technology, designed specifically to effectively remove impurities and contaminants from the water. This meticulous filtration process ensures that the water remains clean and safe, promoting the overall health and well-being of the horses during their therapeutic sessions.

To maintain optimal pump and valve operation, we keep the water clean by ensuring horses are free from soil and sand before entering.

  • Very safe! For the water treadmill an adjustable photocell and sensor have been integrated to ensure that the belt stops immediately in the event of any abnormal horse behavior.

To enhance safety, the facility is equipped with two emergency stop buttons for quick intervention if necessary with a control box at the head of the horse. Additionally, there are clear, shatterproof doors and sidewalls that allow for unobstructed viewing of the therapy process.

Staff is always at hand to maximize safety for all our treatment options. Safety is our number one priority.
